Scott began his career in the entertainment business at the age of 10, as an energetic and humorous monkey mascot for a local radio station in his hometown of Tampa, Florida. Scott immediately knew that he had found his path to a fulfilling, lifelong career as a media personality. As an adult, his first assignment at Q105-WRBQ FM & AM in Tampa was in promotions, but he quickly worked his way into programming before transitioning into an on-air talent position. Scott spent a few years at Mix 96-WMTX-FM, where his magnetic voice and personality helped catapult the station from 8th place to 1st in the all-important ratings war. Later, Scott joined 100.7 KISS FM, where he was the nighttime on-air talent, again leading the station to the treasured #1 ratings spot with adults in the age range of 18-34 and 25-54. His success soon attracted the attention of crosstown competitor 93.3 FLZ , which recognized Scott’s ability to connect with and build a loyal fan base. Here, Scott Steel’s name became not only recognizable by his audience but also frequently requested.
Scott began to widen his reach outside of the local media more than 10 years ago. Recently, some of his most notable projects in Los Angeles have been as co-Host of the Rick Dees in the Morning show and co-Host of the Jamie Foxx show, The Foxxhole. Weekly, he entertains millions with his quick wit as Scott “White-boy” Steel for The Foxxhole, which is broadcast on Sirius XM 106 Satellite Radio. Scott also delivers daily the latest Hollywood news and gossip in his addictive style on numerous radio stations throughout the country during his nationally syndicated show, Scott Steel in the House from Hollywood
Throughout the years, Scott has proved his talents extend beyond the sound waves of radio. He served as Assistant Director as well as co-Host of the weekly series Lifestyles of the Up and Coming and as Producer of the Michael Damian music video Time of the Season. As an actor, Scott has held numerous extra and featured roles in such films as Lethal Weapon 3, Cop and a Half, Summer Rental and the HBO weekly series Entourage.
In front of the camera, Scott’s dynamic voice is able to come to life with a dynamic look and an unforgettable persona. This combination made Scott one of the most popular on-air personalities in the Southeast and inspired MTV to approach him to co-host several programs surrounding Super Bowl XXXV with Carson Daly. The high ratings and success of Scott’s spirited and charged guest spots opened the door for Scott to co-host regularly as correspondent for the hit show TRL. From there, he earned a more permanent role as a guest co-Host on Wild on E!, a hip and trendy travel show on E! Entertainment Television. Currently, Scott continues to secure assignments as a fun and charismatic freelance reporter and host for MTV, VH-1 and E! Entertainment Television. Scott also can be seen in television commercials for Universal Studios, Adventure Island, Busch Gardens, Macy’s, and his voice can be heard in national and regional radio commercials for AMC Theaters, Coors Light, Southwest Airlines and Coca-Cola, to name a few.
Now, Scott is off on a new endeavor and invites you to come along for the ride. Listen for Scotty and the Hotties with co-Hosts Claudia Jordan, Bridgette B and Amanda Holzen, Video Producer Dave “The Dork” Sirus and Producer Jason Lee. “This show is fun, crazy and real!” says Steel. “We cover everything from pop culture to dating to the latest Hollywood gossip.
